Ronald Salyk, DDS, has been with MHHC for 15 years, the last
14 as Vice President of Dental Affairs. He received his BS degree
in Biology from CCNY of CUNY, an MS in Biology from Fordham
University, and a DDS from Columbia University. Dentistry is
his second career, having spent his early professional life
in teaching science at the college and secondary levels. He
completed his General Practice Residency at the Bronx Veterans
Administration Hospital in 1988, and joined Morris Heights in
1989. During his tenure at the Health Center, the department
has shown steady growth, and currently consists of three sites,
13 chairs, a staff of 20, and is associated with two residency
programs – Lutheran Medical Center AEGD and Bronx Lebanon
GPR. His special interests include Public Health Dentistry and
Infection Control. Dr. Salyk is a Board Member of the Clinical
Directors Network of New York City and a member of the Dental
Management Coalition of Region II of New York, the Association
of Professionals in Infection Control, National Network for
Oral Health Access, the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved,
and the Steering Committee of the New York State Oral Health
Plan Committee. He is also a member of the faculty of the Lutheran
Medical Center AEGD Residency program. |
